Students are encouraged to talk with their academic advisor about the classes available to them on their study abroad program of choice. Students should talk about:
- Their plans for study abroad.
- Making academic progress.
- Will courses count for major requirements?
- Will courses count for general education requirements?
- Study Abroad Academic Policies.
- Study Abroad policies for the Perspectives and Diversity waivers.
Transfer of Credits Form
Completing the Study Abroad Transfer of Credit Form:
When you are ready to complete this form you will need to make an appointment with your academic advisor and bring:
- A copy of the form;
- A copy of your degree audit;
- A list of various course options;
- Course descriptions;
- Have access to the Millersville course catalog found on the Registrar’s website.
Your host university/program should send transcripts directly to the Office of International Programs & Services and NOT the Registrar's Office. Use the following address:

If you took any classes that were not listed on your original Study Abroad Transfer of Credits Form and you did not revise it while you were abroad, there will be a delay to get your credits posted to your Degree Audit. If your Transfer of Credits Form matches the courses listed on your transcript, the IPS Office will process your transcript within 3 weeks. However, if the Transfer of Credit form needs to be updated, it can take up to 6 weeks to complete. If this is the case, you must complete a new Study Abroad Transfer of Credits Form and submit it to your study abroad advisor.
When all forms are completed, signed, and submitted to the Office of International Programs & Services, IPS staff will process the courses, credits, and grades onto the student's academic record at Millersville University. The documents are then sent to the Registrar's Office for finalizing. The Registrar's Office completes any specific degree audit section instructions listed on the transfer of credit form, as well as any Perspectives and/or Diversity waivers. The entire process between the IPS Office and the Registrar's Office can take 3 to 6 weeks, or longer if there are delays in receiving completed forms.
